Administration Settings Resource Bundles Resource Bundles view

The Resource Bundles view displays the resource bundles that exist at the current scope level. A resource bundle is a collection of all the messages, User Interface (UI) labels, and menu nodes in N4. You can use resource bundles to localize N4 into a particular language. After you configure the resource bundles, N4 displays the UI in the correct language based on the user's locale. By default, the UI language is English. In addition, you can modify the text in the UI with or without localizing it into a particular language.

When you add a resource bundle for a specific language, all N4 users who have been assigned that language will see the new localized UI when they log in the next time. To change the language associated with a user, use the User form (on page 1).

In addition to the changes in N4, you must ensure that the operating system on the client machine supports the character set for the language and also change the locale settings of the operating system on the client machine. For example, if you want to localize the UI into Korean, you must ensure that the OS supports Korean characters and select Korean as the locale and language for the OS on the client machine.

You can add a new resource bundle, and edit or delete an existing resource bundle from this view.

In addition, you can use the Actions menu to:

Teklogix devices display only the number of characters that are in a field's name within that field, sometimes truncating values within fields with short label names. To ensure all characters within a field display on a Teklogix device, modify the field's label using the Resource form (on page 1) to include placeholder characters, such as '#', to lengthen the field name so that it has the same number of characters as the value you want to view.
